Mouse and Bat crept upstairs, every step creaking loudly in the heavy silence.
At the end of the hall, a massive mirror leaned against the wall. Its surface shimmered oddly — not reflecting the hallway, but some other place entirely. A forest at night. A glowing path. A shadow waiting just beyond view.
Mouse’s fur stood on end. "Don't touch it," he warned.
Bat, ever curious, fluttered closer... and the mirror pulsed, pulling at their reflections.
Mouse lunged forward, grabbing Bat just in time! The glass cracked with a deafening sound, splintering into a thousand harmless shards.
The spell was broken. The mirror's trap was gone. They had survived the Upside World — and it was time to go home.
